Grow & live an inspired life….

Breathe

Take a moment, if you want, close your eyes, take a deep long, slow

breath and go inward. Place your attention on your heart, in the center of your chest…

Then ask, what word do I need right now? And select a word from your heart seed word pack.

How does this word make you feel?

What meaning do you give this word?

What meaning do the people around you give this word?

This is a picture of the actual piece of paper I have hanging above my desk as a reminder to Breathe.

When I first heard Brene Brown talk about four-square breathing, I copied and printed out the visual example and put them everywhere.

The military teaches it to aid in stress-related situations, I think David Goggins talks about it in his book CAN’T HURT ME.

It’s also a simple way to practice mindfulness.

How do you practice square breathing?

  1. Inhale through your nose for a count of four (1, 2, 3, 4)

  2. Hold your breath for a count of four (1, 2, 3, 4)

  3. Exhale through your mouth for a count of four (1, 2, 3, 4)

  4. Pause and hold for a count of four (1, 2, 3, 4)

  5. Repeat.

It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Never ignore professional medical advice in seeking treatment because of something you have read on this Site. If you think you may have a medical emergency, immediately call your doctor or dial 911

“Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.”
